Maxine Cox Maxine is our senior full-time cattery attendant (Mon-Fri) She is an ex Information Technology business analyst who needed a break for a short while- that was back in June 1997, and she's still here! She has a love of companion animals and frequently lends a hand as an RSPCA foster carer. She also has a great love and talent of artistry, milliner and home cooking. She is a VRC member as she is a keen racegoer. Maxine has 2 adorable burmese cats, named Moxie and Helix who recieve plenty of cuddles from all the staff when they visit us for a holiday in our cattery. Maxine's favourite personal quotation is " A house is not a home without a cat" Sue Scott Sue is one of our casual cattery attendants often on weekends and during the working week. She is married with 2 teenage children and settled in Canberra after an overseas trip with her husband living in Canda for a year overland for 6 months. She is a qualified preschool Mothercraft nurse, has been a resturant manager, teacher's assistant for disabled kids and is now working at Stromlo High School in the student records/services area. Phew! She has a love of animals, photography, travel, stamping/cardmaking and collecting antique teddy bears. Sue has 2 cats, a burmese named Gizmo and a domestic moggie named Mittens. Her favourite personal quotation is: "My life 's too short to do that!" Michelle Balfour Michelle is one of our casual cattery attendants. She loves hiking and camping...or just generally being outdoors, working with animals and is keen to do more travelling. She is currently undertaking a Bachelor of Science at the ANU, majoring in zoology and ecology and evolution. She would like to work in animal conservation of field research, possibly with primates or marine animals. Michelle has a cheeky 3 year old Beagle named Ginger who is incredibly food driven and loves to nibble everything (especially socks!) Maxine Wendt Maxine is one of our casual cattery attendants. She is 19 years old and currently in her first year of a Bachelor of Genetics at the ANU. She has completed her year 12 certificate and the International Baccalauereate Diploma. Additonally she can speak fluent german and enjoys riding horses and playing the violin. Her areas of interest are animals, horseriding (show jumping), music, languages, biology, camping, and conservation. She is travelling to South Africa in November to volunteer in animal conservation. She has 2 domestic shorthair cats named Roccy and Kandis and a cockatiel named casper. Maxine's personal quotation is: "Thousands of years ago, cats were worshipped as gods. Alethea Boel
Merinda Purcell Merinda is one of our casual cattery attendants. She started working with us as a cattery attendant in 2007 and also additionally volunteers as a trainee vet nurse on Mondays to gain more experience. She graduated from CIT in 2009 with a Diploma of Animal Technology. She is currently working full time for companion medicine but still loves to come in on weekends to look after our kitty guests! She is interested in medicine, especially new ones being discovered and registered for animals. She enjoys art and music when she finds some spare time although insists she is not very good at either! Merinda has two rabbits named Carib and Mushroom and two Budgies named Leto and Paris.
Alana Harwood Alana is one of our casual cattery attendants. She is currently studying for a Bachelor of Science (Zoology) at the ANU. She has 2 beautiful Basenji's named Dotty and Blazer. |
