Endoscopy Endoscopy allows us to investigate and treat certain diseases using minimally invasive procedures. | |
|
We have a long flexible endoscope which is principally used for investigating gastrointestinal disorders. We are able to remove foreign bodies such as clothing and stuck bones without the need for surgery. Biopsies can be collected through the endoscope using special instruments, allowing more accurate diagnoses. A common reason for this is to investigate chronic vomiting problems. |

Colonoscopy can be used to diagnose large bowel disease. Pets needing these procedures are prepared by being fasted, and for colonoscopy, being given a liquid which makes viewing the wall of the intestine easier. |
